Early Years Development Champion

Nikki our Leader has been chosen to take part in an exciting programme being commissioned by the Department of Education to support local settings with Language, Literacy and Maths. This is a nationwide project. She attended the information day yesterday and starts the training to become a Champion in January. This is a two year programme. It means that the setting will have a level 4 trained Elklan practitioner to complement Sara's level 3 and they will achieve Communication Friendly Status.

Planning in the Moment training for settings

Today we held our first ever Planning in the Moment training course for external practitioners from other settings. It was a big success and we are looking forward to our next one on the 9th December. Please contact us if you are interested in knowing more about our training or our setting.

Little Learners facilitated some Maths training with Kym Scott. This was accessed by a number of other both local and further afield settings. The overall feedback was that it was a fantastic course with plenty of things to take away and use productively. Thanks Kym!

We had the fantastic Isla Hill from Make Believe Arts. We had a wide range of practitioners attending from both local and far flung settings working with children from a wide range of ages. It was an inspirational day.

Woodwork training course by Pete Moorhouse

Little Learners staff and other staff from local settings braved the snow on Saturday morning to learn all about woodwork with young children. What a fantastic morning. We learnt so much and the benefits of woodwork for young children are massive. Little Learners will be doing some with the children really soon!
